Study: The Covid-19 pandemic has caused a reduction in life expectancy in various parts of the world. Life expectancy decreased to more than a year and a half per person on average (1.6 years) in the years 2020 and 2021.

This translated into an increase in deaths of 15.9 million cases, slightly more than the approximately 15 million deaths indicated by the World Health Organization. But the results showed that the infant mortality rate continued to decline during the period covered by the study.
