Yesterday (19th) around 8 am, Sergeant A, in his early 20s, was found dead in the single dormitory of the Air Force 20th Wing in Seosan, South Chungcheong Province.



Sergeant A of the Air Maintenance Squadron was commissioned early last year and it is known that he served for about a year in the unit.



Sergeant A was found by his fellow troops.



The 20th Wing of the Air Force, where the incident occurred, was the unit where the late Sergeant Lee Ye-ram worked.



Sergeant Ye-Ram Lee, who was sexually assaulted by a senior non-commissioned officer and suffered a secondary assault, made an extreme choice in May of last year.



The Military Court Act was amended in the wake of the case of the late Sergeant Lee Ye-ram, and from this month, the civilian police will be in charge of the investigation of crimes related to the death of soldiers.



After the military police recognized the death of Sergeant A, they immediately notified the Chungnam Provincial Police Agency.



The military police conduct forensics in the presence of the civilian police and investigate the cause of death.



The Military Human Rights Commissioner of the National Human Rights Commission, which was launched this month, also immediately launched an investigation.



The military human rights protection officer oversees the investigation process and investigates whether there are human rights violations or discriminatory acts within the unit.
