The Israeli occupation army admitted in mid-December that it had mistakenly killed 3 of its captured soldiers in the Shujaiya neighborhood in Gaza (French).

The Israeli army said that one of its soldiers imprisoned by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip since October 7 has been confirmed dead.

The occupation army explained in a statement on Sunday that it had found data confirming the soldier’s death, without providing further details.

He pointed out that the dead soldier was Sergeant Oz Daniel (19 years old), from Kfar Saba in central Israel, a soldier in the 77th Battalion.

The statement did not mention details about the circumstances of the soldier’s death, amid conflicting accounts in the Israeli media about whether he died in Gaza or in the events of last October 7 and his body was transferred to the Gaza Strip.

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military arm of the Hamas movement, had previously confirmed the killing of a number of Israeli prisoners and detainees in the Gaza Strip as a result of the Israeli bombing.

The Israeli occupation army also admitted in mid-December that it had mistakenly killed 3 of its captured soldiers in the Shujaiya neighborhood in Gaza.

Tel Aviv estimates the number of detainees held by the Palestinian resistance in Gaza at about 134 Israelis, including soldiers, while it holds at least 8,800 Palestinians in its prisons, according to official Palestinian and Israeli sources.

According to the official figures announced, 240 Israeli soldiers have been killed in the Gaza Strip since the start of the ground invasion late last October, and more than 2,960 others have been injured, and 318 of these are still undergoing treatment in hospitals.
