“The meeting of the heads of states-guarantors of the Astana process of assistance to the Syrian settlement was really useful and very informative.

In a businesslike and constructive atmosphere, together with Mr. Raisi and Mr. Erdogan, we substantively discussed the key aspects of our cooperation on Syria,” Putin said after the summit.

The Russian leader also noted that Russia, Iran and Turkey adopted a joint statement on Syria.

“The adopted joint statement reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening trilateral cooperation between Russia, Iran and Turkey in the interests of achieving a sustainable and viable normalization of the situation in the Syrian Arab Republic,” he said.
