The Minister of National Education Pap Ndiaye held a press conference on Tuesday to detail the instructions given to establishments to limit the consequences of the heat wave, while the baccalaureate begins on Wednesday with the philosophy test.

These are "common sense" principles, he said.

The government is "mobilized" with the rectorates.

The 2022 baccalaureate exams begin this Wednesday, as a heat wave hits all of France.

The Minister of National Education Pap Ndiaye held a press conference to indicate the system put in place to reassure students: the tests will not be postponed.

“Rectorates and school heads have been instructed, as part of a heat wave plan, (to put in place) common sense principles,” explains Pap Ndiaye, before listing the measures.

"Spend the week in the best conditions"

"Aeration of classrooms, distribution of water for staff and students, and, as much as possible, students placed in rooms or in shaded places", details the minister.

For Pap Ndiaye, "these provisions should make it possible to spend the week in the best conditions".

However, the ministry "remains very attentive, via the rectorates, to the situation".

At the end of the afternoon, Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne also brought together the prefects and regional health agencies to discuss the systems in place to protect the most vulnerable people.
