Russia will not pay compensation to foreign agents awarded by the decision of the European Court of Human Rights, said the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.

“There can be no comment here after our well-known document, which was signed by the president.

The Russian Federation does not comply with these decisions anymore,” he answered the corresponding question of the journalist.

Earlier, the ECHR said that the law on foreign agents “violates human rights”, and awarded each applicant compensation in the amount of €10,000.

On June 11, Vladimir Putin signed a law on non-execution of judgments of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in the country after March 15, 2022, from the date the Russian Federation filed an application to withdraw from the Council of Europe.

Also, according to the law, the decisions of the ECtHR will cease to be the basis for the revision of decisions made by the courts of Russia.

State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin previously noted that the ECtHR "became an instrument of political struggle against Russia in the hands of Western politicians" and some of its decisions directly contradicted the Constitution and Russian traditions.

The situation in Ukraine

Commenting on the situation in Ukraine, a Kremlin spokesman called the shelling of civilian facilities in Donbass by the Armed Forces of Ukraine barbaric.

Peskov recalled that the purpose of the Russian special operation is to protect the residents of the DPR and LPR.

“The main and main task of the special military operation is to ensure the safety and protection of people in Lugansk and Donetsk, so yes, there are additional, we see, completely barbaric shelling of civilian objects, barbaric.

In recent days, we have witnessed the identification of these shellings ... ”Peskov said.

Earlier, the head of the Donetsk People's Republic, Denis Pushilin, said that the DPR would ask for additional assistance from Russia.

Pushilin stressed that Kyiv "crossed all the lines", specifying that during the latest shelling, forbidden methods of warfare were used.

Recall, on the eve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine several times opened fire from heavy weapons on civilian infrastructure in Donetsk, several civilians became victims of shelling.

The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case under the article on the ill-treatment of the civilian population and the use of prohibited means and methods in an armed conflict.

In addition, Peskov said that British representatives did not contact Russia about British citizens sentenced to death in the DPR.

Peskov stressed that London should appeal to the authorities of the country whose court passed the verdict, but specified that in the event of an appeal, Moscow would be ready to listen to the British side.

On June 9, a court in the Donetsk People's Republic issued death sentences to British citizens Sean Pinner and Aiden Eslin, as well as Moroccan citizen Saadoun Brahim, who fought on the side of Ukraine.

The Kremlin spokesman also raised the issue of Ukrainian grain, noting that Moscow did not receive relevant signals from Kyiv.

“There are no signals from the Ukrainian side: what, how and whether it wants to export something at all,” Peskov told reporters.

At the beginning of June, Vladimir Putin emphasized that Moscow does not prevent the export of Ukrainian grain.

The Russian leader said that Moscow was ready to ensure the export of grain through the ports under its control, creating the necessary logistics and guaranteeing security.

Work of foreign companies in Russia

In a conversation with reporters, Peskov also said that foreign companies curtailed their work in Russia under pressure, threats and blackmail from the West.

At the same time, according to him, many companies from the EU, the US and Canada retain their interest in Russia.

“All this blackmail is not capable of nullifying the interest of the mentioned investors in the Russian market.

Many companies say that under pressure - unprecedented pressure - they are now forced to curtail their activities, but at the same time they tell us that they would like to return as soon as possible, and this is very important, ”the Kremlin spokesman explained.

He added that many foreign investors will still participate in SPIEF.

“Investors come not only from the US or EU countries.

Much larger foreign investors are in the Middle East - in China, India, Indonesia, the Philippines and also in dozens and dozens of countries that have a much larger population than in the countries of the so-called collective West.

These investors are interested, and entrepreneurs will take an active part in the forum,” Peskov said.
