The “Renaissance Dam” stockpile decreased by two billion cubic meters

Egyptian water expert Abbas Sharaki said that satellite images showed that the reservoir of the "Renaissance Dam" had decreased by two billion cubic meters.

Sharaki said in a statement to "Russia Today", that today's satellite images show that the turbine has stopped working intermittently since its opening on February 20, and it is not relied upon to drain the lake's water, and it was stopped at the time of filming.

He added that the total that has been spent since last March until now is more than two billion cubic meters, and thus the current stock becomes less than 6 billion cubic meters.

The increase in drainage from the Roseires Dam continues, after the opening of the second gate last week, and the third today. It takes about two weeks for this water to reach the High Dam.

Yesterday's satellite imagery showed:

The Renaissance Dam’s reserves decreased by two billion cubic meters, and the 10th turbine stopped

- More drainage into the Roseires Dam.

The discharge from the "Renaissance Dam" increased after the opening of the western gate on the eighth of this month, with the eastern gate that opened on the 12th of last March.
