The story of an 11-year-old Ukrainian boy crossing the border by himself on a train to escape a Russian invasion was reported.

According to foreign media such as the New York Post on the 7th local time, the protagonist of this story is Hassan, a boy from the Zaporiza nuclear power plant in southeastern Ukraine that has recently been taken over by Russia.

Hassan's mother decided to leave her son at the house of a Slovak relative after the Russian attack intensified, leaving him alone on a train bound for Slovakia.

He couldn't go on the evacuation road with him because he had to take care of his elderly mother, who had limited mobility.

Hassan traveled 1,000 km by train and arrived at the Slovak border on the 5th.

At the time, Hassan was carrying a backpack, with only a passport and a plastic bag in his hand.

Slovak authorities contacted a relative in Bratislava, the Slovakian capital, using the phone number on the back of Hassan's hand.

Hassan, with the help of Slovak authorities, was safely transported to the house of his relatives, 500 kilometers from the border.

After sharing Hassan's story on social media, the Slovak Ministry of Interior praised Hassan, saying, "This boy with a smile, courage and determination won everyone's heart. He deserves to be called a real hero."

“Many people, including military and police officers, customs officers, and volunteers, helped Hassan. They took care of him while he was on his way to his relative’s house and provided him with free food and drinks.”

Upon hearing the news that her son had escaped Ukraine safely, Hassan's mother expressed her gratitude through SNS, saying, "I was worried that I had to send my son alone, but fortunately I seem to have met broad-minded people there."
