Annika Winsth, Chief Economist at Nordea, sees positive signs in the labor market.

- The week after the announcement of eased restrictions, newly registered vacancies increased by 52,000, almost twice as much as it usually is a week in January, she says.

"Companies compete for labor"

Between March 2020 and December 2021, 13,295 companies went bankrupt.

A large majority, 13,234, were companies with less than fifty employees.

There are just over 1,000 fewer small companies that went bankrupt compared to the same period before the pandemic - many survived because they received state support.

- Now companies are competing for the existing workforce.

My Nordic colleagues say that Denmark is looking at Skåne to find labor there, in Norway they are looking at western Sweden.

The labor market is strong, says Annika Winsth.

Organizers request financial support

The event industry is one of the industries that has been hardest hit by the pandemic, and some small companies that SVT has been in contact with request financial support to get started with the business, but no such support is available, and Annika Winsth thinks it is reasonable .

- There are many entrepreneurs looking for staff now.

The companies that do not manage in a strong economy in the competition that exists, they may try to find other information.

Then it is rather individuals you should support and not the company, she thinks.
