December 25, 2021 For the first time since the start of the pandemic, France has registered more than 100,000 cases of Covid in one day.

104,611 infections were reported in the last 24 hours and 84 deaths related to the disease on Christmas Day.

A record since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.



The data was published by the Public Health Agency.

The threshold of 50 thousand had been exceeded on 4 December last, the figure doubled in just three weeks.



The omicron variant continues to run and public health authorities say ICU admissions have gone from 28 to 3,282.
