It is noted that in his address Sokurov apologizes to Fadeev "for what happened at the meeting of the council with the president."

"My friends are warning about the impending danger of my life," - said the director.

He noted that he agreed with the reaction of the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov and considered himself an amateur.

Earlier, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, said that the competent authorities need to assess the statement of the director Alexander Sokurov about the republics of the North Caucasus as part of Russia.

At a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and members of the HRC, Sokurov expressed the opinion that the republics of the North Caucasus currently have a pronounced "national character" and suggested letting go of those who do not want to live with Russia.

Putin disagreed with this statement.

The President also told the director that this issue “should be taken very seriously”.
