Sankara assassination trial: Diendéré's accusations against ex-prime minister Zida

In front of the Ouagadougou military tribunal, General Gilbert Dienderé maintained that he had organized a meeting between the men responsible for the security of President Thomas Sankara and Captain Blaise Compaoré on October 15, 1987. It was impossible to hear Chief Warrant Officer Hyacinthe Kafando in this case: he has fled the country since 2015. And this, according to General Dienderé, with the support of Yacouba Isaac Zida, the former Prime Minister under the transition.

In Burkina Faso, at the trial of the alleged assassins of President Thomas Sankara and his collaborators, on October 15, 1987, since the start of the interrogations of the accused, it is the name of Hyacinthe Kafando, chief sergeant at the time of the facts, which returns .

During the investigation of the Sankara case, the judge issued a summons to hear Chief Warrant Officer Hyacinthe Kafando, who was still in Burkina Faso.

But the former security boss of Captain Blaise Compaoré at the time did not appear at the judge's office.

The nephew of Hyacinthe Kafando, a corporal of the armed forces, informed me that there was a summons from the judge against his uncle,

 " maintains General Gilbert Diendéré at the bar.

According to Blaise Compaoré's former chief of staff, it was General Yacouba Isaac Zida, then Prime Minister under the transition, who suggested to Hyacinthe Kafando not to respond to the convocation of June 22, 2015.

"Yacouba Isaac Zida instructed Corporal Mady Pafadnam to prevent Hyacinthe Kafando to leave Burkinabè territory, because the examining magistrate would put gendarmes on his heels

", explains General Diendéré.

This is how Corporal Mady Pafadnam allegedly led Chief Warrant Officer Hyacinthe Kafando to one of the borders of Burkina Faso, without specifying which one.

General Gilbert Diendéré claims to have been indicted in this case on the instructions of General Yacouba Isaac Zida, who had nevertheless promised that he would not be worried.
