The brutal death last Thursday of a 28-year-old Canary cyclist in the south of France is being investigated as a murder and has already been communicated to his family, consular sources reported this Sunday.
The young man was
found last Thursday, October 7, by a passerby
while he was still alive near a dirt road in the small town of Soyons, in the Ardeche department (southeastern France), on the banks of the Rhone River.
The cyclist, seriously injured, ended up dying in the hospital of the
city of Valence
due to about thirty injuries, most of them to the head.
If at first the hypothesis of a fortuitous accident was handled, the authorities opted more for a possible murder due to the nature of the injuries, probably produced by the
contusion with a blunt object
.
The public prosecutor of the Republic of Privas confirmed the opening of a murder investigation.
The Valence judicial police carry out the investigations of this event, which has been shocked by the brutal way in which it happened and because it is a normally very quiet place, surrounded by nature.
