May 18, 2017Theft in the Pompeii excavations: a bronze boss dating back to the 6th century BC was taken away: it was exhibited in the exhibition 'Pompeii and the Greeks' inside the so-called Palestra Grande. The stud, an ornament for doors, was fixed on a wooden panel and covered only in front by a plexiglass panel. The theft would have occurred during the opening hours to the public. The carabinieri of the investigative unit of Torre Annunziata (Naples) are investigating.
