Employees of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation stopped the preparation of a terrorist act at one of the facilities of law enforcement agencies in the Republic of Bashkortostan.

"As a result of the measures taken, five residents of the city of Ufa, born in 2001-2003, were detained - members of a neo-Nazi group who were preparing a terrorist act using improvised explosives and explosive devices," the message says.

During investigative actions at the addresses of their residence and in a cache equipped in an abandoned building, the security forces seized a ready-to-use IED, an improvised explosive and components for its synthesis, as well as nine cold weapons, instructions for making explosive devices, portraits of the leaders of the Third Reich, a nationalist Stepan Bandera and nationalist attributes.

As the Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Bashkortostan clarified, five residents of the city of Ufa, aged 17 to 20, were detained.

According to the investigation, the organizer of the group was a 19-year-old young man who involved four more Ufa residents in illegal activities in preparation for committing terrorist crimes against state authorities and law enforcement agencies.

The suspect spread the ideas of neo-Nazism among the accomplices, taught them the rules of handling weapons, the skills of making homemade explosive mixtures and substances.

They also studied specialized literature on combat tactics and other training activities in order to gain knowledge and skills for carrying out terrorist activities.

The UK added that the 19-year-old suspect also made an improvised explosive device.

“At present, initial investigative actions have been carried out with the suspects, the court, at the request of the investigator, has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention.

Investigators, together with FSB operatives, continue to establish all the circumstances of the crimes committed, ”the department explained.

A criminal case was initiated against the detainees on the grounds of crimes under Part 1 of Art.

30, part 1 of Art.

205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Preparation for the commission of a terrorist act"), art.

205.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Passage of training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities"), part 2 of Art.

223.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal manufacture of explosives, illegal manufacture, alteration or repair of explosive devices").

Detentions of neo-Nazis in Russia

Since the beginning of this year, the FSB has carried out a series of operations to detain members of the Ukrainian youth radical neo-Nazi community "MKU".

So, in February in Voronezh, three people aged 18, 19 and 33 were detained in connection with their involvement in the propaganda of the ideology of neo-Nazism and massacres.

Extremist literature, symbols of nationalist organizations and edged weapons were seized from them.

In March, 14 radicals were detained in Gelendzhik and Yaroslavl.

According to the investigation, the members of the organization committed crimes "against persons leading an asocial lifestyle, without a definite place of residence," and incited hatred and enmity on a national basis.

Community members beat people and posted videos of the attacks on the network.

Later that month in Irkutsk, Krasnodar, Saratov, Tambov, Tyumen, Chita, Anapa (Krasnodar Territory), Pushchin (Moscow Region), Pereslavl-Zalessky (Yaroslavl Region), 16 supporters of M.K.U. were detained, who prepared armed attacks and "blowing up the administrative buildings of the authorities."

In May, a cell of the Ukrainian youth radical neo-Nazi community in Saratov was destroyed.
