Has a mentally confused man planned an attack or an amoctate and was stopped just in time?

According to the Frankfurt police and public prosecutor's office, there are many indications of this.

Last Thursday, the police had provisionally arrested a fifty-three-year-old who had announced an attack in several confused letters for July 20th.

The accused had been noticed for a long time by sending extensive, handwritten letters and letters with confused, incomprehensible content to various, primarily Hessian, authorities and courts.

In it he complained about alleged injustices on the part of government agencies and enriched his letters indiscriminately with quotations from various legal texts.

The terms used, their diction as well as their presentation indicated a mental confusion and a closeness to the scene of the imperial citizens and self-administrators.

However, the latter could not be confirmed.

Announced attack

A week ago the situation worsened when the man immediately sent letters to several authorities announcing that he would commit an unspecified attack on July 20.

Because of this threat, an investigation has started against him.

At first it was not known where the man lived.

The investigators from the Frankfurt State Security Commissioner then managed to track him down through extensive investigations.

In the north of Frankfurt they made a neglected garden plot on which the man had been for some time and arrested him there on Thursday.

During the search of the site, on which a construction trailer, several steel containers and several derelict motor vehicles were located, numerous weapons (gas and air guns), a crossbow, daggers and swords were found. The man was then taken into custody.
