Between 2010 and 2020, 144 people contracted tick-borne encephalitis in Västmanland.
Most were infected in the areas close to Lake Mälaren around Västerås and Köping, but there are also established cases in, for example, Sala and Arboga.
The clip shows the extent of the cases found in Västmanland.
The vaccine recommendations from previous years are firm and even in Västmanland there has been a discussion about whether vaccines should be offered to residents free of charge or subsidized.
