A Philippine military transport plane crashed on the island of Holo in the southern province of Sulu, killing 29 of the 96 people on board and leaving 17 missing.



According to foreign media such as AFP and AP, the Philippine military authorities announced that the C-130H transport plane crashed in the mountainous area of ​​Patikul while trying to land on the island alone at 11:30 am.



Military authorities said the plane was carrying 96 people, including three pilots and five crew members.



So far, 29 bodies have been recovered from the wreckage of a burning transport plane, and 50 people have been rescued so far and are being treated at a nearby military hospital, the military authorities said.



Search operations are still ongoing for the remaining 17 people who are missing.



"The pilot failed to find the runway and failed to control the transport," said Sirilito Sovejana, chief of the Philippine military's Joint Chiefs of Staff.



The exact cause of the fall is still unknown.



However, a military spokesperson explained that there were no signs of an attack on the transport plane.
