On the morning of July 2, local time, Israeli warplanes bombed a weapons factory of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip, in retaliation for the Palestinians to fly burning balloons to Israel the day before.
The Israeli military stated that the bombing caused no casualties.
According to Israeli media reports, in the past three years, some Hamas-related Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have released thousands of balloons equipped with incendiary and explosive devices to southern Israel, causing many fires.
