June 12, 2021 - Brazil women's national soccer players protested sexual harassment, just days after the country's football federation chief was suspended for a month, writes Adnkronos. Ahead of a test match against Russia on Friday, the Brazilian team unrolled a banner reading "no to harassment". Marta, Formiga and other players also shared a coordinated message on their social media, which did not mention the name of the president of the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) Rogerio Caboclo. "Every day thousands of people are affected by moral and sexual harassment and are not respected, especially us women," wrote the players. Saying no to sexual harassment goes beyond words and turf: it's about actions, continued the message. "We ask men and women to name this," they wrote.

Caboclo received an initial 30-day suspension from the CBF ethics committee after being charged with sexual and moral violence against a confederation employee, writes Adnkronos. According to a media report, he allegedly asked an employee about his sex life and insulted her. He also allegedly tried to control his relationships with other employees and his style of clothing, Adnkronos always reports. Caboclo denies all allegations. "The allegations are very serious" and shocked the players, said Swedish coach Pia Sundhage at a press conference ahead of Friday's game.
