- It feels fantastic fun that we have now got this really locally grown and we have a traceability from the malting so that we really know that we use malt from the countryside, says Per Vikström, one of the owners of the brewery.

At present, two farmers in the Stjärnsund area grow malting barley.

The first harvest has now returned to the brewery and will start to be used in production at the end of May.

In addition to the brewery in Stjärnsund, there are two other breweries that will use Dala malt.

"This is only the beginning"

Per and his colleague plan to have even more local raw materials in their production.

- We are working on a project to produce locally grown hops, this is just the beginning for us when it comes to local ingredients.
