An event was held at Nijo Castle, a world heritage site, to sample and compare local sake.

This event was held in conjunction with the Cherry Blossom Festival being held at Nijo Castle in Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto City, and the city of Kyoto collaborated with a sake brewery to hold the event at Kountei, a tea room that is usually closed to the public.

At the venue, five types of sake from a sake brewery in Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture, which is said to be carefully brewed from the rice raw material, were prepared, as well as snacks such as tsukudani and pickled plums made in Kyoto.

After receiving an explanation of the characteristics of the sake from sake brewery personnel, the participating tourists from Japan and abroad repeatedly sipped the sake poured into paper cups to see the difference.

According to the sake brewery, the five types of sake offered are all made from the same variety of rice, but the rice polishing ratio, alcohol content, and type of yeast are different.

A man in his 50s from Sapporo, who participated as a couple, said, ``I love Japanese sake, so I thought it would be interesting, so I participated. When I compared the drinks, the flavor and taste were completely different, and I found my favorite sake.'' .

This event will also be held on March 31st.
