"They (Blinken and Borrell) agreed that Israelis and Palestinians need to be able to live in safety, as well as to have an equal degree of freedom, security, prosperity and democracy," the message says.
The press service added that Blinken announced "the crucial role of the US-EU partnership in the region."
He also announced the commitment of the United States to continue consultations.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that special representatives of the Middle East Quartet of international mediators on May 16 held emergency consultations in the format of a teleconference.
