The alarm came a few minutes after 4 pm, and had first been called in to SOS Alarm.
Ambulance personnel and police who were first on the scene could only state that the woman had died from her injuries.
- It seems as if it is a knife that has been used, says police spokesman Peter Adlersson.
People have been detained
Several people have been detained in the case.
- They have been in a few different places, but close to the crime scene.
These are people we believe have information to provide, but that does not necessarily mean that everyone is a suspect, Peter Adlersson explains.
An investigation is now underway to try to clarify the course of events.
The apartment has been cordoned off for technical inspection.
The case is initially with the crime scene in Gothenburg, but is later transferred to the serious crime scene.
