Potsdam (dpa / bb) - The number of first aid courses has decreased significantly in Brandenburg due to the corona pandemic.

That was the result of a survey by the German Press Agency.

Last year, around 25 percent fewer people took part in the courses of the German Red Cross (DRK) than usual. «During the pandemic, the majority of the DRK district associations in Brandenburg temporarily restricted or discontinued their range of first aid courses, to minimize the risks of a corona infection, "said the spokesman for the DRK regional association, Fabian Lamster.

There are hardly any online offers in the country, especially since these are not recognized as full-fledged courses.

At the same time, however, the demand for first aid courses is still high.

According to Lamster, this could not be fully operated after the pandemic because there have been fewer courses for trainers due to the corona.
