According to Karnaukhov, Western intelligence services use publications such as Meduza to carry out "information attacks" on Russia, so the inclusion of this media outlet on the list of foreign agents on Russian territory is absolutely justified.
"The ultimate goal of the Western intelligence services behind Meduza, in addition to information attacks on Russia, is infiltration of information sources into various structures, that is, in the language of operatives, recruiting and forming a station," the political scientist added.
The Ministry of Justice entered the Internet edition Meduza into the register of foreign mass media performing the functions of a foreign agent on April 23.
