The 8th Congress of the Labor Party, North Korea's largest political event, was held yesterday (5th).



Today (6th), Chosun Central Broadcasting reported that Chairman Kim Jong-un gave an opening remark, saying, "The 8th Congress of the Labor Party of Korea has opened in Pyongyang."



The broadcast said that the Central Committee of the Labor Party was held to prepare practical improvement measures by harmonizing the work of the Party Central Committee to meet the demands of the times of turmoil, clearly re-determining the exact direction and mission of the struggle.



He also stressed that this conference is "a special political affair that has great significance in the party's militant path."



The broadcast added that members of the Political Bureau attended the conference.
