Marseille continues its frantic pace in Ligue 1 and titillates Paris SG in the standings after its victory (2-1) over Monaco on Saturday, while Montpellier relaunched in the race for European places by going to win (3-2) at Lens.

Six consecutive victories!

Humiliated in the Champions League, OM are still an ogre in the Championship.

Facing Monaco, André Villas-Boas' men started off on the ropes, worn by the duo Florian Thauvin - Dario Benedetto.

"Flotov" opened the scoring in the 5th minute, with an impeccable header on a cross from the Argentine.

And returned the favor to Benedetto a few minutes later, with a cross for "Pipa" who, forgotten at the far post by the Monegasque defense, succeeded perfectly in his recovery from the right (13th).

Two goals in two matches, a sign that Benedetto may have come out of his bad patch.

Shadow on the board, Thauvin was guilty of a dangerous foot high in the area, logically sanctioned with a penalty, transformed without problem by Wissam Ben Yedder (79th).

The Monegasques had until then been too imprecise, as evidenced by a huge failure of the same Ben Yedder at the start of the match.

Before PSG, leader with 28 points, receives Lyon on Sunday, the Phocéens can rub their hands: they go back to a unit of their great rival, with two more games to go.

Better: they go back to second place, and will remain on the podium at the end of this 14th day, unless Lille wins Sunday against Bordeaux ... and Lyon in Paris.

- Montpellier reacts -

And behind, it is jostling!

Montpellier recovered well from its defeat (3-1) against PSG by going to beat Lens (3-2) mentally at Bollaert-Delelis.

With this result, the Paillade overtook Monaco, beaten by Marseille, and joined in the fight for European places by ensuring to finish the day in 5th place.

Stephy Mavididi opened the scoring with a header at the near post (16th), on a caviar from Andy Delort after a muscular interception from Téji Savanier.

Pedro Mendes doubled the bet (26th).

On a free kick from Savanier, the Portuguese defender emerged and took advantage of a clumsiness of the Lensois goalkeeper Jean-Louis Leca to push the leather to the back of the net.

Without dismantling, the Lensois managed to pick up.

A heavy strike from Seko Fofana bounced off the post ... and on the back of Hérault goalkeeper Jonas Omlin, scorer against his side (36th) for the reduction of the Blood and Gold score.

Fofana, again, obtained the penalty of the equalizer on a shock with Omlin, that Gaël Kakuta transformed (50th) without problem.

But the Hérault people went to seek mental resources to regain the advantage, by Gaëtan Laborde.

The MHSC striker has taken over, with a header, a corner from Florent Mollet (69th).

A result which makes Lens fall behind in the race for Europe.

Despite their two fewer matches, the Sang et Or (8th, 21 pts) remain in the soft stomach.
