In the Security Council's open debate on contemporary drivers of conflict and insecurity, the UAE stressed the importance of prevention, future preparation and comprehensive approaches, highlighting the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change on the conditions that lead to conflict and violence and increase their frequency, as well as exacerbate Hunger crisis, disruption of basic services, increased unemployment, competition for resources, and displacement.
