Gilles Simon (59th) was stopped by the American Tommy Paul (55th) in the first round of the Masters 1000 in Paris in three sets 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 on Tuesday.

Simon however led 3 games to 0 in the deciding set.

But he couldn't stop Paul from coming back and scoring six straight games to emerge victorious in just two hours.

Five French people have joined the second round of the Paris tournament since Monday: Richard Gasquet, Pierre-Hugues Herbert, Ugo Humbert, Benjamin Bonzi and Corentin Moutet.

But the latter was excluded from the Paris tournament and placed in isolation after testing positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday.
