Corentin Moutet (75th) qualified with difficulty for the second round of the Masters 1000 in Paris by overthrowing the Italian Salvatore Caruso (81st) in three sets 3-6, 7-6 (7/2), 6-3 in 2h31 Monday.

Moutet (21), beneficiary of an invitation, will challenge the young 20-year-old Canadian Félix Auger-Aliassime (21st) or the Croatian Marin Cilic, former world No. 3 today 43rd, for a place in the round of 16 .

Leading four games to one in the deciding set, the Frenchman, particularly nervous at the start of the game, allowed his opponent to return to 4-3, but he managed to win the last two games to win.
