France's Kristina Mladenovic and her doubles partner Hungarian Timea Babos have been disqualified from the US Open women's doubles draw, following a decision by local health authorities, the American Federation (USTA) announced on Saturday.

This decision is based on the fact that Mladenovic is one of the players who worked alongside Benoît Paire tested positive for coronavirus and excluded from the tournament, and that she must therefore "remain in quarantine".

On Friday, Adrian Mannarino, also in this situation, was able to play his third round, lost to Alexander Zverev, the USTA having finally received the green light from the authorities after tough negotiations.
