This is a daily indicator that always encourages more caution and compliance with barrier measures: 8,975 new cases of

Covid-19

were detected within 24 hours in France, according to figures published on Friday 4 September by the Directorate General of Health.

This represents a net increase from the previous days.

On Wednesday and Thursday, there were just over 7,000 new cases in 24 hours.

Almost 9,000 new cases: a record in France since the start of the epidemic and the launch of large-scale tests.

Italy ready to help France

The coronavirus is therefore gaining ground in the country: 53 new clusters have also been detected.

Faced with the increase in cases, Italy is reaching out to France.

“

At the worst moment of the pandemic, France did not close its borders but helped Italy with sanitary equipment.

This we do not forget

, ”said Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio.

Over a million people have been tested over the past seven days in France.

Here too, we see a progression of the virus: the positivity rate, that is to say the proportion of the number of people tested positive, continues to increase.

It reached 4.5% on Friday, down from 4.4% the day before.

Finally, 473 patients are hospitalized in intensive care, including 46 during the last 24 hours.

That's nine more patients from Thursday's figure.
