The Libyan reconciliation government said that Russian mercenaries were planting mines in the city of Sirte in an attempt to prevent them from controlling them, and the forces of retired Major General Khalifa Haftar were accused of exterminating entire families on the southern outskirts of Tripoli and the city of Tarhuna, where mass graves were found, which sparked international calls to investigate them.

Brigadier-Al-Hadi Drah, spokesman for the Sirte and Al-Jafra Operations and Insurance Operations Chamber said today, Sunday, that sources inside Sirte (450 km east of Tripoli) informed them that Russian mercenaries had laid mines inside and outside the city's homes, in addition to minimizing the entire West Sirte region to hinder the progress of the Drub Operation forces. Victory affiliated with Accord.

Before the Haftar forces withdrew from the southern suburbs of Tripoli, their Russian mercenary supporters planted thousands of mines in the streets and civilian homes.

So far, these mines have killed more than 40 people, including civilians and specialists in removing explosives and mines from the Libyan government of reconciliation forces.

The Al-Wefaq forces had sent reinforcements to the city of Sirte, and said that they were awaiting orders to start a military operation to restore the city, which was controlled by Haftar forces at the beginning of this year, confirming its determination also to restore the Al-Jafra air base located in the south.

For his part, Haftar forces spokesman Ahmed Al-Mismari said that they would fight Al-Wefaq forces in the desert and open lands, and that their departure from the cities was "a protection for the population and to avoid losses."

Al-Mismari promised, in a statement on his Facebook page, to better manage military operations within the framework of what he described as a strategic plan, and harnessing all capabilities of Haftar forces and civilian authorities.

The extermination of families
The Presidential Council of the National Accord Government said that Haftar's forces exterminated entire families in Tarhuna and Qasr bin Ghashir, south of the capital.

This comes after the Ministry of Health in the Al-Wefaq government confirmed that it had received 106 bodies, after being recovered from 11 mass graves in Tarhuna.

The State Department has called for an investigation into the violations taking place in Libya after what it described as shocking news that mass graves were found.

The Al-Wefaq government yesterday accused Haftar's forces of committing genocide and planting mines in children's toys in areas under its control.

Earlier, the Al-Jazeera correspondent in Libya, quoting a source in the Ministry of Health in the Al-Wefaq government, said that 11 graves had been found in Tarhuna city (80 km southeast of Tripoli) in the former headquarters of Haftar Kani militia.

The source stated that the Ministry of Health in the internationally recognized government of Al-Wefaq received 106 bodies from Tarhuna General Hospital. He explained that most of the bodies belong to civilians from the city of Tarhuna who are against Hifter, and are prisoners from the forces of the reconciliation government.

He said that the identities of the rest of the bodies were being identified by the Criminal Investigation Laboratory by DNA.

In a statement, the Presidential Council demanded international condemnation and an international investigation into the crimes of Haftar's forces, and the accountability of the perpetrators and those who supported them. They are tied hands and feet. "

He said that the horrors of crimes are unfolding to teams working to recover bodies, as hundreds are buried in unknown mass graves, or they are still missing.

Securing the cities
On the other hand, the security forces continue to secure the newly recovered cities, and the Ministry of Interior has deployed hundreds of its elements in the southern suburbs of Tripoli as well as in Tarhuna.

In the past few days, security services have arrested dozens of people accused of property theft in areas that Al-Wefaq forces recently recovered.

On the other hand, Al-Wefaq forces announced the arrest of a military commander in the Haftar Forces, Major General Omar Tantoush Al-Warsfani, who was one of the leaders of what was known in 2015 as the tribal army, which was famous for its anti-Libyan revolution.

The tribal army was made up of military and civilian militants loyal to the Qaddafi regime, before its full members joined the Haftar forces.
