Suhair has been working in the nursing profession for 25 years, and has reached the position of Assistant Director of the Nursing Administration at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City.

Hilal told «Emirates Today»: «Nursing is the profession of giving without limits, so only those who know the global human value of this profession work with it, and the nurse and nurse is considered the cornerstone of the efficiency of hospitals and health centers, where the profession requires that the nurse and the nurse perform technical and administrative jobs And educational, consulting and social, through the application of the nursing process, which includes nursing survey, diagnosis, planning, implementation and provision of patient care ».

She added: “My job requires me to follow multiple medical departments, including internal, psychological, epidemic and nutritional diseases, outpatient clinics, and other departments, and with the emergence of the new Corona virus, these tasks have increased, especially as we have expanded in some departments that include those with (Corona) disease owners Chronic ».

She pointed out that the main tasks of her job now are to follow the nurses in the first line of defense, and to ensure that they are ready and perform their professional and humanitarian duty, and to provide them with high care for patients, while adhering to the precautionary procedures, and to develop permanent training plans that are in line with the strategy of the Health Company and the Health Department Abu Dhabi.

Hilal pointed out that her daily working hours since the Corona pandemic started is not related to a number of hours, so it is possible that her period starts at eight in the morning, and ends at 10 in the evening, according to the requirements of work.

She said: "What is most lacking since the beginning of the (Corona) crisis is seeing my granddaughter (Jude), who is one year and six months old. More than three months ago, I did not meet her, and I did not isolate myself in a hotel room, because my children understood them and my husband."

She added: “I strictly maintain my commitment to all precautionary measures, and one of my beloved habits stopped my heart, which is kissing my children to my head when I return or return from abroad, in order to preserve the safety of everyone.”

She pointed out that the most human situations that she was exposed to since the beginning of receiving "Corona" patients in Khalifa Medical City, is the presence of injured people inside the hospital from her acquaintances and friends, pointing out that she is communicating with them to check on their health and psychological state, and help them to remove the awe of their hearts.

Hilal said: «The nursing staff plays a human role with (Corona) patients no less important in treatment than their medical role, as one of the priorities of our tasks is to make all patients feel that we are their family and support them, we celebrate with them on their occasions, and we have communication with all patients, as our role is not limited to care Medical only, but preceded by psychological and social care, which plays a large role in raising their morale and strengthening immunity, which contributes to the speed of treatment ».

She added: «Hospital communication facilities have been provided between patients and their families through chat programs via the Internet, and we also allow entry of some purposes and meals to patients’ home meals, so that they do not feel isolated, provided that healthy meals do not conflict with the treatment program, and nursing staff are easily accessible to Sick of her time. ”
