A recent study revealed that the US President was promoting a correctional mechanism for Corona that is far from accurate, and while indicators confirm that the African continent has avoided the worst, the figures show that deaths from the virus in Arab countries are concentrated in four countries.

According to the latest figures, the Coruna virus infected 4 million and 391 thousand, more than 300 thousand of them died, while more than 1.5 million patients recovered.

The states top the world in terms of infection and death due to the virus, having recorded nearly 1.4 million infections and more than 83,000 deaths so far.

In a related context, a study conducted by researchers at the New Langon Health Institute at New York University revealed that a rapid testing of the emerging corona virus promoted by President Donald Trump and used to examine White House officials gave false negative results in nearly half of the cases.

The device built by Abbott Laboratories shows positive results in five minutes and negative in 13 minutes, and tests were conducted with devices that needed 45 minutes to give the result.

The researchers found that the Abbott test showed false negative results in about a third of the cases in which the sample was taken using a nasal swab in a liquid solution, and 48% when it remained dry, which is the method recommended by the company.

The laboratories objected to the results of the study, which had not yet been reviewed by independent researchers, and said it was not clear that the samples were taken correctly.

Another company spokesman, Scott Stoffel, explained that another study from the University of Detroit found that the test was 98% accurate.

The ID Now test received widespread attention when it got regulatory approval and Trump presented it at the White House at the end of March.

The president's disappointment

On the other hand, US President Donald Trump said today, Thursday, that he was very disappointed in China for its failure to contain the spread of the emerging corona virus, adding that the global epidemic casts a shadow over the trade agreement between the two countries.

The virus first appeared in the Chinese city of Wuhan last December, and has swept the world in recent months.

"I was very disappointed in China," Trump said in an interview with Fox Business today.

"They shouldn't have allowed this to happen. A great trade agreement was signed. Now I say that my feeling about it is not the same again. The ink was barely dry and then the pandemic came."

US President Siham criticized his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, who had repeatedly said he had a good relationship with him, saying, "But the truth of the matter is, at the moment I do not want to talk to him."

The mystery of African immunity

While the virus has left huge numbers of dead and sick in Europe, the Americas and Asia, the numbers indicate that the African continent has avoided the worst due to many factors.

The continent recorded more than 70 thousand infections, or 1.6% of the total global outcome, while it is home to 17% of the world's population, and the virus caused the death of about 2,500 people in Africa.

Sub-Saharan Africa also has the lowest death rate (less than 3% of cases, according to estimates) due to illness compared to Europe.

The scientific community makes several hypotheses to answer the mystery that Africa is not affected by the virus, but there are two main explanations: imposing isolation measures early, and the low age of the population.

"I have taken containment measures early, slowing the curve of the epidemic, and most countries have implemented these measures after almost identifying the first case," said Michel Yao of the World Health Organization in Brazzaville.

For his part, said Dr. Jean-Marie Millereri, an epidemiologist and specialist in tropical public health in Abidjan, "In France it took 52 days after the first case to be detected, and by that time there were 4,500 cases in Ivory Coast and five days after the first case appeared Schools and borders are closed, and after a week a curfew has been imposed.

Another major explanation is that 60% of the population is under 25 years old, and this specialist said, "The average age ranges around 19 years, and there is also a weaker life expectancy with fewer elderly people, and therefore fewer cases, and a less widespread virus."

"In the West, the most affected were the elderly," said Professor Omar Sar - a research professor at the Faculty of Medicine at Sheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar. He added that the elderly often "suffer from concomitant diseases" and these factors increase the risk of Covid 19.

Is there an African immunity?
There is no definitive answer to this question, but Professor Omar Saar says that "there is intersecting immunity due to prolonged exposure to various microorganisms and good coverage of vaccines, especially tuberculosis vaccine, BCG."

"There may be a possible immunological effect gained due to the global pressure of infection. There are a lot of diseases in Africa and therefore the population may have a stronger immunity than Europeans against viruses such as the emerging corona virus, and he also spoke about" competition in infection, when several viruses are Causing diseases competing, some of them may hinder the development of others. "

Arab losses

Arably, the numbers indicate that the deaths caused by the virus are concentrated in four countries, namely Egypt, Algeria, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

On Thursday, Egypt announced it had registered 15 deaths in Corona, which raised the total deaths from the virus to 571.

In Algeria, the Ministry of Health said in a statement that it recorded 7 new deaths from the virus, taking the total number of deaths to 529.

In Saudi Arabia, the authorities have so far recorded 283 deaths from the emerging corona virus.

In the United Arab Emirates, the authorities recorded up to 208 deaths from the emerging corona virus.

In terms of injuries, Saudi Arabia remains first with 46,869 injuries, followed by Qatar 28,272, then the UAE with 21,84 injuries, Kuwait, which has recorded 11,975 injuries so far.
