How easy or difficult is it really to buy an apartment in Sweden if you are 20 to 24 years old and have an average income?

This is very different, according to the survey made by SVT Nyheter of the apartments registered as sold on Hemnet from March 1, 2019 to February 29 this year.

Hard to buy in rural municipalities

The survey shows that the young people in 40 of Sweden's municipalities could not afford to buy any apartment at all in the central city. Many municipalities on the list are located in the Stockholm area, which is probably not so surprising.

But that it has been too expensive for young people to buy an apartment in municipalities such as Mullsjö, Mörbylånga and Lessebo is more surprising.

SVT has also gone to house inspection to see what you can get for a million kronor. It shows that only 14 percent of all homes sold went for one million or less on Hemnet for one year.
