Al-Amimi said, "The Dubai Police General Command is keen to preserve these Ramadan rituals, which include announcing the advent of Ramadan and the time for iftar, in addition to the confirmation of the two feasts," noting that staff were formed in each of the sites that were chosen to distribute breakfast cannons. These are: Al Khawaneej, Atlantis, The Palm, Burj Khalifa and the Eid Prayer Ground in Al Mankhool.

He added that the Ramadan cannon is one of the distinctive symbols of the holy month, due to its attraction to families and tourists every year, but this year and in view of the conditions that the whole world is going through, and within the framework of the precautionary measures and preventive measures undertaken by the Emirate of Dubai, aimed at preserving public health, and in implementation of the directives Issued by the competent authorities in the state, and when required by the public interest and the safety of all segments of society, it was decided to hold the activities of Ramadan cannons for this year without an audience, so Ramadan cannons were chosen in these locations, given the population density in which they are located, where they can watch the breakfast cannon from their homes, K A everyone can view it through television.
