The National Office for the Defense of the Earth and Resistance to Settlement, affiliated with the Palestine Liberation Organization, said in a report issued yesterday that the Israeli occupation authorities are taking an additional step towards building an apartheid regime, with the announcement of the Minister of War Naftali Bennett agreeing to construct a separate street for the Palestinians, linking the northern West Bank to its south in the region. It is named "E1" near the settlement of "Maale Adumim".

The office added in its weekly report on settlement, that, according to Bennett, "the construction of this street is a solution to obstacles facing construction in the aforementioned area, by preventing all Palestinian villages such as Anata, Hazma and Ram from passing through the main road after building their bypass road in the area, with the aim of Separating Israeli public transportation from the Palestinian », in his view.

The report indicated that, through this, the occupation authorities can seize as much of the land they seized in the early 1980s, and convert Ma'ale Adumim from an ordinary settlement to the largest settlement group for Jews.

He pointed out that this project allows the occupation to start building more settlements without any inconvenience, as it was prepared for it for nearly 10 years, and has not been approved until now, and planning procedures for it will start in cooperation with the Israeli Ministry of Transport and Communications.

In January last year, the occupation authorities opened a street for settlers to the northeast of occupied Jerusalem, without allowing the Palestinians to cross it, which is “4370” Street located between the French Hill Junction and the tunnel leading to Mount Scopus, and called it “Apartheid Street”, where the street is divided Along his wall is an eight-meter-high wall, separating Palestinian drivers and drivers from Israeli settlers, a street that starts from the town of Anata, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, toward the town of al-Zayyim east, and links several settlements near Ramallah to occupied Jerusalem.
