March 13, 2020 Microsoft announces that company co-founder Bill Gates is leaving the board to devote more time to his philanthropic activities, including global health, development, training, and his growing commitment to climate change.

The company announced in a note.

However, Gates will remain technological adviser to CEO Satya Nadella and other corporate executives.
