Ethiopia has started sending high-level delegations to countries in Europe and Africa to inform its leaders about the Addis Ababa position on the Renaissance Dam negotiations, according to the official Ethiopian News Agency.

She led the Ethiopian delegation to Africa, the Ethiopian President Sahli Paper Zodi, while the delegation heading to Europe was led by the former Ethiopian President Mulato Teshome.

It is expected that the former President of Ethiopia will meet the leaders of France and the member states of the European Union to brief them on the latest developments of the Ethiopian position on the negotiations for the Renaissance Dam.

The Ethiopian President began her visit to Africa from Kenya, where she met President Uhuru Kenyatta, and briefed him on the latest developments in the course of the Renaissance Dam negotiations with both Sudan and Egypt aimed at reaching an agreement on the mobilization and operation of the dam.

According to the Ethiopian News Agency, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta stressed the need for Africa to use its natural resources sustainably to meet the increasing needs of its population, in addition to finding African solutions to African problems.

The Kenyan President also stressed the importance of ensuring the fair and reasonable use of natural resources.

The agency stated that an Ethiopian delegation headed by General Berhanu Gula, Deputy Chief of Staff, also arrived in Khartoum and met with Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdock, and delivered a message from the Ethiopian Prime Minister, without further details.

The agency stated that Ethiopia plans to send a high-level delegation to the United States of America and other countries for a similar mission.
