The United Arab Emirates has announced the suspension of all passenger flights coming from and destined for Italy with the exception of the capital, Rome, from yesterday, until further notice, in the framework of the precautionary measures taken by the Emirates to confront the new Corona virus (Covid-19).

In a statement yesterday, the General Authority of Civil Aviation required that those arriving from Rome International Airport be subject to accurate and advanced preventive medical examinations that are applied at the country's airports upon their arrival to ensure the safety of travelers from the virus.

The authority said that «the decision to suspend flights came after studying and analyzing the current conditions on the spread of the virus in Italy in coordination with international bodies, and in cooperation with all concerned national bodies represented by the National Authority for Emergency and Crisis and Disaster Management, the Ministry of Health, Community Protection and national carriers (Etihad Airways) and (Emirates Airlines) ).

The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Authority and the competent authorities are constantly monitoring the situation in Italy to take appropriate decisions regarding all developments and developments related to the spread of the virus.
