Speaking at a meeting of the board of the department, the head of state called for additional measures to organize work at the pre-trial stage of criminal proceedings.

“To all the facts of arbitrariness, falsifications, direct fraud, which in itself is a criminal offense, I demand to react extremely harshly, stop such activities and decisively get rid of such employees who violate the law,” Putin said.

In 2019, the Russian leader called the arbitrariness of the situation with the case of journalist Ivan Golunov, who was detained on suspicion of possession of drugs and then released due to lack of evidence of guilt.
