LINE Yahoo submitted a report on the 1st outlining measures to prevent recurrence. The company announced its policy to terminate or reduce various operations outsourced to Naver, a South Korean IT company that suffered a cyber attack and was the cause of the leak.
Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Matsumoto expressed his intention to take additional measures if necessary, and strongly urged companies to take thorough measures. He said LINE has many users and can be considered a part of our daily life infrastructure, and appropriate measures should be taken to strengthen governance.
