"In a very short time, we got four incidents with these Renault Kangoo cars where the brakes stopped working, or where the braking ability was severely impaired," Mathias Krümmel, Operations Manager at Postnord, told Expressen.

He says no one has been injured in the incidents, but that the experiences have been shocking for the employees. For Postnord, the car problems mean that the company is forced to rent cars in the open market, which entails additional costs.

Causes delays

Sharing mail with the hired cars is a challenge, as they are left-handed unlike ordinary mail cars where the drivers are seated to the right. This has led to some delays according to Mathias Krümmel.

When the new mail cars were procured, one of the requirements was that they should be able to pass winter roads. Now Renault is trying to find a solution to the problems.
