Through the agreement, the government will invest more than SEK 12 billion nationally on health care in 2020. Of that money, 146 million will land in Kronoberg Region and 177 million in Kalmar County, the Ministry of Social Affairs writes in a press release.

The extra resources can be used, among other things, to improve accessibility in primary care, shorten cancer queues, strengthen maternity care and improve staff working conditions.

The government will also contribute more money to regions that succeed in short waiting times for specialist care and operations.
