Justin Chang Chang, a film critic for the Los Angeles Times, expects Bong Joon-ho's "Parasite" to win the award at the 92nd Academy Awards.
"If you look at the inclination of the Academy members, statistically it seems that '1917' will win the prize, but the dark horse of the dark horse and the strongest wild card of all time, 'parasite' can win well and are eligible."
He stressed that 'parasites' will and should win.
Subsequently, Bong Joon-ho and Sam Mendes of '1917' competed fiercely for the director's award.
Chang, however, cited Bong Joon-ho as the one who should be awarded.
Another LA Times film critic, Kenneth Turan, was named Joker's Joaquin Phoenix for Best Actor.
However, the award-winning actor was Antonio Banderas of Payne and Glory.
