January 11, 2020Bernie Sanders takes the lead in polls in Iowa, the small state of the Midwest where the 'caucus' will be celebrated on February 3 that will open, as is tradition, the race of democratic primaries for the White House.

The Vermont senator was found to have 20% of the support in a Des Moines Register / Cnn poll, followed by the other progressive senator Elizabeth Warren, with 17%. In third place was the mayor of Indiana, Pete Buttigieg, with 16%, followed by ex vice president Joe Biden with 15%.

The results mark an important advance of the senator, who with his candidacy in the 2016 primaries against Hillary Clinton, while losing, has clearly re-launched the left wing, which does not hesitate to call itself a socialist, of the democratic party.

In a similar poll conducted in November, Sanders was placed third. However, his detachment with Warren is contained, so much so that pollsters believe the battle for the Iowa caucuses is still open.
