The announcement was expected. Anne Hidalgo, the PS mayor of Paris, officially declared her candidacy for a second mandate at the head of the French capital, in an interview with the Parisian posted online on Saturday, January 11.
"Yes. I am a candidate for a new mandate as mayor of Paris," said Anne Hidalgo, 60, adding that the ecological question will be the basis of her project for the capital where the left has been in power since 2001.
