10 years ago today, Anne Hidalgo became the first female mayor of Paris, succeeding Bertrand Delanoë. On the occasion of this anniversary, Europe 1 looked at Anne Hidalgo's record at the head of Paris, and it is very mixed.

Ten years ago, Anne Hidalgo became the first woman to serve as mayor of Paris. The latter boasts ten years of transformation at the head of town hall, highlighting the increase in the number of social housing or the creation of cycle paths. But in fact, many parts of the capital have deteriorated since his arrival, such as the finances.

Insecurity continues to grow in the capital

The debt of the city of Paris will reach ten billion euros in 2026. Another downside for Anne Hidalgo is growing insecurity: “The Town Hall welcomed with open arms many migrants who were in very difficult situations. Paris has filled with a lot of camps, with people who are desperate. It creates real, real general insecurity in Paris in the face of a town hall which, I remind you, only wanted a municipal police force in 2020," says Aurélien Véron, elected representative of the opposition Les Républicains.
